Dan is the immediate past president of NYSAC and serves as a member of the board of directors of the National Association of Counties (NACo). For his steadfast leadership, Dan was named County Leader of the Year in November 2017 by American City & County Magazine.

He is the producer and co-host of the movie podcast The Flop House, [3] which he co-hosts with comedian/bar owner Stuart Wellington and former Daily Show head writer Elliott Kalan. [4]
