Kevin Durant became the eighth player in NBA history to reach 30,000 career points on Tuesday despite the Phoenix Suns’ 119-112 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies currently hold the second spot in the West at 35-17 while the Suns are 11th at 26-26. Both teams enter this matchup coming off a loss but Phoenix has lost five of seven while Memphis won 10 of 11 before a loss Saturday to the conference-leading Oklahoma City Thunder.

Ja Morant led the Grizzlies with 26 points. Desmond Bane added 20 points. Kevin Durant led the Suns (26-27) with 34 points. He became the eighth player in NBA history to reach 30,000 career points. The Grizzlies (36-17) led from the 8:02 mark of the first quarter until the end of the game.
