McDonald’s Quarter Pounder hamburgers have been linked to an E. coli outbreak that has sickened at least 49 people and killed one, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.Illnesses have been reported in 10 states,

An outbreak of E. coli linked to McDonald’s Corp. Quarter Pounder burgers has killed one person and hospitalized 10 people in 10 states.

The C.D.C. said that nearly 50 people had become ill and one person had died from the deadly bacteria, which the agency tied to an ingredient in one of the fast food chain’s burger items.
