Former Georgia coach Mark Richt explains why his son, Jon, becoming head coach at Prince Avenue football is the right place at the right time.

Jon Richt is the new head coach of Prince Avenue Christian. Richt, who is the son of former Georgia Bulldogs head coach Mark Richt, served as Prince Avenue’s offensive coordinator for the past three years. He helped Prince Avenue win state titles in 2022 and 2023.

On Monday, the elder Richt tweeted that his son — who was on staff as the quarterbacks coach at Miami from 2016-18 — will be leading Prince Avenue Christian‘s program in Bogart.

Long-time Prince Avenue Christian football coach Greg Vandagriff has resigned. The school's athletic director Richard Ricketts said he did not know the whole story, but that Vandagriff came to them last week and handed in a letter of resignation. They sent out a release to the Prince community Monday morning.
