After killing at least nine people, the Palisades Fire continues to burn as residents remain under evacuation orders and warnings, with the next Santa Ana wind event continuing fire danger.

Strong winds are a major concern for firefighters hoping to make quick work of extinguishing the largest wildfire burning in Los Angeles.

The Palisades Fire, which is now known as the most destructive wildfire in Los Angeles history, continues to burn and threaten homes as the firefight enters day six.

Updating maps of Southern California show where wildfires, including the Palisades and Eaton fires, are burning across Los Angeles.

Palisades Fire initially started 10:30 a.m. Jan. 7 in Los Angeles County. It has burned 23,713 acres after being active for a week. A crew of 5,104 firefighters has been working on site and they managed to contain 18% of the fire by Tuesday evening. The blaze's cause remains under investigation.

As wildfires continue to burn in Los Angeles, support, resources and additional firefighters from all over have poured into the city. That includes from some likely lesser-known fire departments: those on tribal reservations across California.
