Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir said that Jasprit Bumrah's workload will be taken care of after the Pune Test against New Zealand, starting October 24 at the MCA Stadium.

During the same press conference on Wednesday, Gambhir spoke about Rishabh Pant’s knee injury as well. Pant had been hit on his right knee during New Zealand's first innings and had to leave the field, with Dhruv Jurel taking over the keeping duties.

Shubman Gill, absent due to neck stiffness in the first Test against New Zealand, is likely to return for the second Test starting Thursday in Pune. H
