Cruise, the autonomous vehicle company, says it is not relaunching its robotaxi service. This news comes after GM announced it had acquired full ownership of Cruise.

General Motors Co. is cutting almost half of the workforce in the Cruise driverless car unit, according to an internal memo and people familiar with the matter, part of a previously announced plan to halt robotaxi service and absorb the operations into its broader business.

GM completes its acquisition of Cruise, which means a brutal 50% reduction in workforce. Those remaining will work on integrating Cruise's autonomous software into GM's Super Cruise.
