Saturday's NHL outdoor Stadium Series game has met a key ingredient: an iconic venue. The Columbus Blue Jackets are hosting the Detroit Red Wings at Ohio Stadium on the Ohio State campus.

Ohio Stadium is typically reserved for football as the reigning CFP champion Ohio State Buckeyes trot out Saturdays in the fall.In March, however, it's typically dormant. Not this year. The NHL will fill the stadium as part of the 2025 Stadium Series featuring the Blue Jackets and Red Wings.

The Buffalo Sabres visit the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday night in an Eastern Conference matchup at the Lenovo Center in Raleigh.
