Drivers in Buffalo, New York faced blinding conditions on the roads Monday night, as snow squalls whipped through the area. The intense burst of snowfall, combined with powerful winds that howled as snow plows tried to keep the roads clear.

On Wednesday at 10:04 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a snow squall warning in effect until 10:45 a.m. for Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, Seneca and Tompkins counties.

More than a foot of snow is expected through early Thursday in parts of central New York, while other parts of of western and central New York will see several inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service in Buffalo.
