Women's marathon world record holder Ruth Chepngetich will race the London Marathon in April, the Kenyan said, adding that she expects a new record could be set in Britain's capital.

Women's world record holder Ruth Chepngetich is set to race in the London Marathon on 27 April. The Kenyan, 30, ran the fastest time in history by a female athlete at the Chicago Marathon in October, clocking two hours, nine minutes and 57 seconds.

Emile Cairess leads the British charge at this year's London Marathon, where Eilish McColgan will make her debut over the distance on 27 April.

Two teenagers and a woman have been arrested after a 14-year-old boy was stabbed to death on a bus in southeast London. Kelyan Bokassa was on the 472 service in Woolwich when he was attacked just before 2.30pm on Tuesday 7 January. The teenager died at the scene shortly after medical help arrived.
