The victim, Jess Kendall, was pistol-whipped and fatally shot after he and his friends were mugged on their way to the Lil Durk concert Sunday night, police say.

Jess Kendall and four friends were just two blocks from the United Center, where they planned to attend the Lil Durk concert, when they were robbed and attacked at gunpoint on Sunday evening, according to Chicago police.

Jess Kendall's older brother told ABC7 that the 18-year-old and his girlfriend were headed to the concert when they were robbed at gunpoint.
