President Donald Trump says that the U.S. will use a detention center at Guantanamo Bay to hold tens of thousands of migrants who can’t be sent back to their home countries.

President Donald Trump has ordered his administration to make room at Guantanamo Bay for “high-priority criminal aliens” who are rounded up during mass deportations. The United States has previously held a small number of migrants within Naval Station Guantanamo Bay in Cuba.

Trump said the move would double U.S. detention lockup capacities, and Guantanamo is “a tough place to get out of.”
