The Academy Awards opened with a spotlight shining on Grande standing alone in a sparkling red dress reminiscent of Dorothy’s ruby slippers in 1939’s “The Wizard of Oz.” Fittingly, Grande sang a breathtaking version of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” She also joined Erivo for the brief duet for “Defying Gravity.”

Grande wore a diamond tennis necklace with drop detailing and simple (but sizable) diamond studs for sparkle, both of which had plenty of room to sparkle thanks to her sleek ballerina bun. For makeup, she kept things soft and romantic with baby pink lipstick, cool-toned blush and her recent signature winged-out lash look.
