U.S. Postal Service (USPS) workers will no longer deliver UPS SurePost packages after the government agency's contract with the parcel service expired this year. The International Brotherhood of Teamsters, a union representing UPS delivery drivers, confirmed the negotiated service agreement's expiration in a Facebook post last week.

The United States Postal Service and FedEx say the recent weather is behind delays in folks getting their mail. Customers of both the USPS and FedEx reached out to Nexstar’s WOWK 13 News with concerns that they hadn’t been receiving their mail.

While USPS mail and deliveries will be delayed, UPS and FedEx pickup and delivery services will continue as usual. Generally, UPS and FedEx office locations remain open as well. Business hours vary by location.

While a majority of financial institutions, retailers and schools will be operating as usual on Thursday, Jan. 9, the U.S. Postal Service and all its branches will be closed, according to the USPS.
