Shortly after Johnson was hired, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Bears were zeroing in on former New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen to serve as the team's defensive coordinator. While it's since been quiet, the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs believes the Bears will be hiring Allen as their defensive coordinator soon.

The leading candidate to become his defensive coordinator in Chicago is former Saints head coach Dennis Allen, per Schefter. The Bears, though, first will have to comply with the Rooney Rule before they officially can hire Allen.

The Colts hired Lou Anarumo, while Dennis Allen, who interviewed with Indianapolis, may be heading to the Bears.
