Adam Lowry is Winnipeg's de facto No. 2 centre, making his extended absence a troubling item for the top team in the West.

Winnipeg Jets head coach Scott Ariel announced that captain Adam Lowry will be out week-to-week with an upper-body injury. Lowry was injured during Monday night’s loss versus Utah Hockey Club when he crashed into the boards during the first period of play and did not return.

Once February hits, second-line centre chatter is as inevitable as frostbite in this city. But Adam Lowry has shown he very well may be capable of handling that role effectively this season.
