Here's a look at this week across Michigan. It will be totally wintry on temperatures. Only one region and one type of snow is expected this week.

Snow has piled up in Southeast Michigan as multiple rounds of flurries moved through the area on Saturday and Sunday.

All of Michigan is expected to see accumulating snow Friday into Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

“A Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for the Saginaw Valley and Thumb regions where dangerously cold wind chills as low as -20 F are expected tonight through Tuesday morning,” NWS meteorologists in Detroit said.

In Southeast Michigan, the snow is expected to develop after 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. with light snow during Saturday. One to 3 inches of snow is expected through Saturday afternoon for most areas. A second round of more intense snow is possible late Saturday evening into Sunday bringing the potential for snow accumulation more than 6 inches.

Southeast Michigan is now predicted to see anywhere between 5-12 inches of snow as a winter storm hits the entire Lower Peninsula.

NORTHERN MICHGAN,. (WPBN/WGTU) - - Much of Northern Michigan is under a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for snow and messy roads later Sunday night through Monday. Additional snow is expected on Monday with lake effect. Colder this week with highs only in the teens, with some wind chills below zero Monday through Wednesday.

Due to this, every single county in the lower peninsula is under a winter weather advisory from 4 a.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15. Once it expires, all of Metro Detroit will be under a Winter Storm Watch. A 4Warn Weather Alert has been declared for Saturday and Sunday due to the weekend-long snowfall.
