The market crashed after banking stocks witnessed sharp selling pressure on Monday, with IndusInd Bank major draggers. Private bank stocks were top losers in the second half, which was not the case in the first half of the March 10th trading session.

On Monday, March 10, the 30-share BSE benchmark Sensex lost 217.41 points or 0.29 per cent to close at 74115.17. The NSE Nifty went down by 92.20 points or 0.41 per cent to close at 22460.30.

The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a negative start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 22,605 level, a discount of nearly 45 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.

The 30-share BSE Sensex climbed 324.67 points or 0.44 per cent to 74,657.25 in the morning trade. On the similar lines, the Nifty of NSE rose 98.45 points or 0.44 per cent to 22,650.95.

Stock market experts are remaining cautiously optimistic on the market due to recent recovery. However, the market is expected to remain volatile in the coming week with key global and domestic events lined up.

On Thursday, March 06, the 30-share BSE benchmark Sensex gained 609.86 points or 0.83 per cent to close at 74340.09. The NSE Nifty went up by 207.40 points or 0.93 per cent to close at 22544.70.

Indian markets closed Friday with modest gains, outperforming global peers. The Nifty 50 rose 0.03%, ending the week up 1.88%. Sensex fell 0.08% but gained 1.66% weekly.
