The trends on Gift Nifty indicate a gap-up start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 24,540 level, a premium of nearly 60 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.

The two key equity benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty, on Thursday are trading flat amid volatility as unabated foreign fund outflows and disappointing earnings from HUL dented investors' sentiment.

Experts have recommended buying - Max Financial Services, MCX, Tata Consumer Products, MMTC and Bharat Dynamics.

Within the Nifty index, several companies, including Trent, HDFC Bank, Sunpharma, HCL Tech and Adani Ports were among the top gainers. On the other hand, Hindalco, SBI Life, Tata Consumers and Britannia Industries were among the top losers.

Indian equity benchmarks closed marginally lower after a volatile session, with Bajaj Finance leading gainers by nearly 5%.

The Indian stock market faced significant selloffs, with the Sensex and Nifty 50 dropping over 1%. Mid and small-cap indices fell up to 4%, resulting in a market capitalisation decline of ₹9 lakh crore in one day.

Frontline stocks such as ICICI Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, L&T, Sun Pharma, Axis Bank, NTPC, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), PowerGrid, State Bank of India (SBI) and Adani Ports contributed to the fall today.
