Center Macklin Celebrini will remain out of the San Jose Sharks lineup for at least the next two weeks as the team tries to give his hip injury the proper amount of time to heal before he can continue with this rookie NHL season.

San Jose Sharks rookie Macklin Celebrini, the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NHL draft, will miss at least two more weeks with a lower-body injury. Sharks general manager Mike Grier provided the timeline update for the 18-year-old forward Monday.

While Celebrini was initially listed as day-to-day after being placed on injured reserve with a lower-body injury, Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli suggested on Friday that the Sharks will hold off on his return to prioritize his long-term health.
