For the first time in nearly two decades, you’ll be able to watch the Charlotte Hornets for free on local, over-the-air television.

The selected games are of note, too. The Hornets only have five games, but they're picking some iconic opponents to show. These teams may all be hard challenges, but fans watching

The Hornets’ five games on free TV will air on Cox Media Group-owned WSOC-TV and WAXN-TV (known as TV 64). WSOC will show the first free TV game Jan. 27, when the Hornets host LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, and the last one March 3, when Charlotte takes on Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors.

Decision comes 24 hours after Hornets’ scheduled game vs. LeBron James and Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night was postponed.
