Sixers center Joel Embiid will miss at least three more games because of left knee swelling, the team said Friday.

The Philadelphia 76ers announced on Friday that Joel Embiid will be out an additional seven to 10 days after experiencing increased swelling in his left knee following an on-court workout on Thursday.

Joel Embiid (left knee injury management) and Paul George ( left finger extensor tendon injury) are among six Sixers listed as out for the team's Friday night matchup against the Denver Nuggets, according to the team's initial injury report released on Thursday afternoon.

Joel Embiid will miss at least three more games as he continues to recover from another injury to his left knee.

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid will be sidelined at least another seven to 10 days with swelling in his left knee, the team announced Friday. The former league MVP missed the past six contests with a left foot sprain and will not make the three-game road trip to Indiana (Saturday),

“While the foot sprain has healed, Embiid experienced an increase in swelling in his left knee following the workout,” the Sixers said in a statement. “After consulting with team medical staff and external doctors, Embiid will receive treatment in the coming days to address the swelling.”

Joel Embiid has been ruled out of the 76ers’ next two games against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday and Sacramento Kings on Wednesday because of left knee injury management. The team also said that Paul George will not play against the Lakers because of a finger injury sustained Saturday in a win against the Bulls in Chicago.

Embiid has only played in 13 of the Sixers' 39 games this season. He missed the first nine games of the year due to left knee injury management and a suspension, played in four out of five games and then missed the next seven contests as swelling reappeared in the knee which he had surgically repaired last February.

Heading into their matchup with the LA Lakers Tuesday night, one of the underlying stories was the return of JJ Redick. The former Philadelphia 76ers guard made his return to the city for the first time as a head coach.
