Ippei Mizuhara, who previously served as the interpreter for Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani, has submitted a letter to Honorable Judge John W. Holcomb, requesting an 18-month prison sentence for his bank fraud charges.

The Dodgers introduced right-handed pitcher Roki Sasaki to the Los Angeles media on Wednesday, holding a press conference at Dodger Stadium. Just last week, Sasaki agreed to join the Dodgers after an extensive free-agent recruitment process that included multiple meetings with the Toronto Blue Jays and San Diego Padres.

The proposed prison sentence would also include three years of supervised release, which would likely be moot as Mizuhara would be deported back to Japan. Mizuhara seeks an 18-month term.
