New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy sparked Republican outrage over recent comments suggesting he and the state’s first lady gave an immigrant with uncertain immigration status an offer to stay at their home.

Gov. Phil Murphy has a response after a comment he made about an immigrant possibly living above his garage caused a stir among conservatives.

Phil Murphy suggested that he had provided shelter to a female illegal immigrant in his home, and even taunted the Trump administration “to try to get her.”
