The American flag is flying at half-staff outside the Wethersfield Fire Department after one of their own was killed while battling a large brush fire in Berlin.Crews continued to battle a brush fire deep in the woods of Berlin on Wednesday morning.

Robert Sharkevich Sr., a Connecticut firefighter, has died after he was involved in a fatal crash while battling a growing brush fire.

A Wethersfield firefighter died on Tuesday after a UTV rolled over near the scene of a large brush fire on Lamentation Mountain in Berlin. The accident was reported at 5:35 p.m. at the fire’s south end.
