Seven dangerous locations across San Diego will soon get new safety features including flashing beacons, countdown timers, pedestrian-friendly delayed-green stoplights and crosswalks that aim to boost visibility.

San Diego officials announced plans on Monday to make traffic safety improvements in on seven areas in the coming months, as advocates continue to push for changes to some of the city's most dangerous intersections.

San Diegans already found ways to help their neighbors up the highway in Los Angeles. Local businesses, nonprofits and animal rescues mobilized shortly after the fires in L.A. got out of control. Albertsons,

City staff reviewed data from 2023 and found and evaluated seven locations where five or more crashes had occurred. The analysis also looked at intersections and street segments with the most injury crashes and crashes involving pedestrians.
