Wild weather continues to cause havoc across parts of North Queensland, with another major flood warning announced by the state’s emergency services.

North Queensland is facing another onslaught of wet weather in areas where it has already been raining for more than a week.The Bureau of Meterology said flood-ravaged communities could see intense daily falls of up to 250mm and renewed river level rises.

Flooding continues over much of northern Queensland, with major flooding from Cardwell to Ingham, and there is still no end in sight to the rain.

Record-breaking floods across north Queensland have now turned deadly, with one woman drowning while being rescued on Sunday morning. And the floodwaters are still rising, with rain set to continue.

Flood waters are rising in the Australian state of Queensland after heavy rainfall. The area between Townsville and Cairns in the north-east is particularly badly affected - a region that is also very popular with tourists.

Australian authorities warned that a major flood risk will persist in the northeastern state of Queensland despite torrential rain easing on Monday (February 3).
