Shares of Nvidia ( NVDA -5.29%) were sinking Wednesday. The company's stock fell 6.2% as of 2:20 p.m. ET, but lost as much as 6.9% earlier in the day. The move comes as the S&P 500 ( ^GSPC -0.39%) and Nasdaq Composite ( ^IXIC -0.54%) lost 0.8% and 1.1%, respectively.

Nvidia’s stock is off to a positive start after a wild Monday. Shares of the chipmaking giant were recently up about 2%, easily outpacing the slight rise in the S&P 500. The first hours of Tuesday’s session followed a start to the week that marked Nvidia’s (NVDA) worst day in years,

Nvidia was last higher by about 7% on Tuesday, with the rally gaining steam throughout the session. The stock at one point shortly after the open was in the red. That bounce comes
