An El Dorado County supervisor sent a letter to President-elect Donald Trump asking for him not to let the federal government forget Caldor Fire victims in Grizzly Flats.

A new wildfire was reported today at 2:09 p.m. in El Dorado County. Casa Fire has been burning on private land. At this time, the containment status is unknown and the cause of the fire remains undetermined.

A solo car crash was reported Wednesday afternoon in El Dorado County near Lower Forni, California Highway Patrol logs show. CHP was dispatched around 1 p.m. to Highway 50 and 39 Mile Stone. It was unclear what caused the crash.

A Toyota Tacoma driver barreled into a boulder Wednesday along Highway 50 and died, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officers just before 1 p.m. were alerted to a crash near Wright Lake Road on eastbound Highway 50, the CHP said.
