A series of small earthquakes rattled the San Francisco Bay Area late Thursday morning, adding another challenge to what is already a busy day battling nature in the region.

There were a few reports of weak shaking after a 2.7 quake occurred Sunday shortly before 8 p.m. in the Pacific Ocean about seven miles from Malibu.
