Our experience with this company was disappointing not because of the scenery as I'm sure it would have been beautiful if we had flown and something very memorable for our only experience in Ketchika… Full review by Rodney C

A:
I thought they were a little more than competitors, but worth the additional price. Very nice planes and good pilots. I toured with several companies in AK too. Not sure on their availability.

Hi RudeDude730, Our aircraft are equipped with floats only, so we can only land and take off from water. The area that we fly over has been carved by glaciers that have since melted resulting in a stunning landscape. Glacier landings are more likely to be offered in Juneau area and possibly other more northern locations in Alaska.

What sets us apart from the others is the unique configuration of our aircraft and company safety record. Our aircraft have been fitted with the latest in Safety and comfort amenities, featuring all leather seat and interiors, equipped with interactive stereo noise cancelling headphones which your ears will thank you for. Every flying guest enjoys two-way communications with the captain and other fellow passengers. We do not play a standard pre-narrated flight recording. Our pilots will narrate the tour as you fly along, or if the group prefers just the sounds of music or allow conversations between each other. It is a very unique and interactive experience that we offer. We also set our tour times half an hour different from most companies in the area. This allows us to have a wider selection of locations to land in once in the Fjords. Being in the Fjords with fewer aircraft also allows us to give you more of an exclusive experience. We offer Oversized Panoramic-view windows are a professional photographer's dream! At Misty Fjords Air we are proud to say we have a perfect safety record with no accidents or incidents since the company’s inception in 1981. We are also a Medallion Shield Carrier. The Medallion Shield Program goes above and beyond normal FAA aircraft safety and company standards. We are proud to say we are one of two companies that hold this award from the 14 floatplane companies in Ketchikan. I hope this helps and answers your questions as to what sets us apart from the other companies. Please feel free to look at our website or email us directly.
